Join The Auxiliary
The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary is the uniformed civilian component of The United States Coast Guard. As the Coast Guard's role in Homeland Security increases, the Auxiliary has stepped up it's support of the missions of The Coast Guard. We perform most of the same functions as members of the Coast Guard except for direct law enforcement and military action. Auxiliary members also have access to an abundance of free education opportunities through online courses and classroom instruction all designed to increase our boating knowledge and abilities. One of the most import elements of the Auxiliary is the fellowship you will share. After all is there any better way to spend your time than with others that share the same love of boating?
As a member of the Auxiliary, will I really make a difference?
Absolutely! These statistics of an average day in the Auxiliary show just how vital our involvement is.

What if I don't have very much experience?
Everyone has skills and talents that are invaluable. The Auxiliary also provides extensive training in many different areas. You don't even need to own a boat to join.
Can I join the same Flotilla as my spouse?
Absolutely. As a matter of fact we encourage couples to join. Spending time in the Auxiliary with your spouse is a terrific way to have fun together and support the Coast Guard in their mission at the same time.
